Granfondo Torino 2026 – Luca Ferrero Memorial: Registration is now open with solidarity bibs

The Granfondo Torino 2026 – Memorial Luca Ferrero returns on Sunday April 19 with its eleventh edition, confirming its position as one of the most significant events on the Italian amateur calendar. This event allows participants to ride on the same roads as the Milan-Turin race, the oldest race in the world, while also celebrating the memory of Luca Ferrero, a passionate cyclist and beloved figure in the community.

Solidarity bib for Cottolengo: the heart of the Granfondo

In 2026, the Granfondo Torino is renewing its social commitment through the solidarity bib, which allows participants to support the Little House of Divine Providence – Cottolengo. A portion of the registration fee will be donated to the historic Turin institution, to which Luca Ferrero dedicated his volunteer work. A simple yet meaningful gesture, transforming participation in the race into a concrete act of solidarity towards those most in need.

The route: 113 km on the roads of history

The 2026 route is 113 km long with 1,900 meters of elevation gain, a technical and fascinating route that passes through some of the most evocative locations in the Turin area. Much of the race follows the same roads as the Milan-Turin route, offering cyclists the thrill of pedaling where champions like Coppi, Bartali, and Merckx wrote history.

The start is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th at 8:30 a.m. from Corso Casale, next to the Motovelodromo, while the finish line will be on Strada dei Colli (Panoramica Pino Torinese – Superga) after 115.7 km.

The “Fausto Coppi” Motovelodromo: a heritage to be experienced

The two-day event will begin on Saturday April 18th with the collection of race packs at the “Fausto Coppi” Motovelodromo, a true monument to Italian cycling. Built in the 1920s and designed by architect Vittorio Ballatore di Rosana, the Motovelodromo is the only sports facility in Turin still standing among those built in the early decades of the twentieth century. The 393-meter track, steeper than traditional velodromes, has hosted stage finishes of the Giro d’Italia and the Milan-Turin race.

The Granfondo Torino actively supports the Motovelodromo’s redevelopment, thanks also to its 2026 partners: Blue Assistance, Medical Lab, and Sport Garage.

The 2026 commemorative jersey

All participants will receive the official commemorative jersey, created by VeloPlus, a company also active in professional cycling. The graphics recall artistic elements and feature the logos of the Motovelodromo’s partners, demonstrating the increasingly strong bond between the race and the facility.

Tribute to the Grande Torino

On Saturday, April 18, GS Alpi President Vittorio Mevio will lay a laurel wreath at Superga, paying tribute to the Grande Torino and the tragedy of May 4, 1949. This moment of great symbolic value unites sport, memory, and civic identity.

Final time trial: the challenge within a challenge

The Granfondo will conclude with a spectacular time trial inside the Motovelodromo, reserved for the top 20 men and top 10 women in the overall rankings. This high-intensity event will crown the King and Queen of the Motovelodromo 2026. Following, starting at 2:45 PM, a pasta party and awards ceremony will take place.
